Assessments

Documentation that validates your reality and helps you navigate the system.

Whether you are seeking a deeper understanding of your own brain, fighting for your right to remain in the country, or navigating the medical gatekeeping of gender-affirming care, you need documentation that accurately reflects your lived experience.

We provide neurodivergent-affirming, trauma-informed assessments designed to support you, not pathologize you.

Affirming ADHD & Autism Assessment (16+)

Supportive evaluations for exploring autism, ADHD, masking, and identity.

We specifically center the folks who have spent their lives flying under the radar or being actively dismissed by traditional medical models - especially women, those socialized as female, high-masking or "gifted" individuals, trans and queer folks, and BIPOC clients.

If you are exhausted from masking and trying to figure out why the world feels so much harder for you than everyone else, you are in the right place.

Why Now? (I’ve survived this long, right?)

Because neurodivergence looks vastly different from person to person, it’s incredibly common to gaslight yourself out of a self-diagnosis. You might be wondering, "Why bother getting assessed now? I’ve made it this far."

Here is why seeking clarity as an adult can be life-changing:

  • Self-Understanding (and finally, some self-compassion): A late-in-life diagnosis helps you connect the dots. It explains why past therapy felt useless, why socializing often feels like a performance, and why you’ve always felt like you were operating without the right manual. It’s the first step to dropping the heavy mask, stopping the self-blame, and finding a community where you can actually thrive.

  • Support That Actually Works: The world, and most traditional therapy, is built for neurotypical brains. Getting clarity on your neurotype helps you stop forcing yourself into allistic (non-autistic) boxes. It allows you to find interventions that actually make sense for your brain and advocate for the accommodations you need to survive the workplace or school.

What Can I Expect?

Traditional testing can feel sterile, pathologizing, and intimidating. We do things differently. Our assessment process is collaborative, conversational, and designed to minimize burnout.

The Assessment Battery includes:

  • Pre-Assessment: Inventories and screening tools you can fill out on your own time before we meet.

  • The Deep Dive: A 2-5 hour assessment interview (available virtually or in-office). We use neuro-affirming tools like the MIGDAS-2, which is designed to explore your unique brain style rather than just checking off a list of "deficits."

  • Outside Perspectives (Optional for adult assessments): Gathering collateral information from a partner, family member, or friend who knows you well. For child assessments, inventories and/or interviews are required from a primary caregiver, a teacher, and, if possible, another adult.

  • The Debrief (Optional): A follow-up meeting to discuss the findings together and talk about what’s next.

  • The Documentation: A written assessment report sent securely to your private client portal, and if requested, a diagnosis letter written for the support person(s) of your choice.

Investment (sliding scale):

  • Adult ADHD only: $1,200 / $1,000 / $800

  • Adult Autism only: $1,700 / $1,500 / $1,300

  • Adult combined assessment: $2,250 / $2,000 / $1,750

  • Child ADHD only: $1,500 / $1,300 / $1,100

  • Child Autism only: $2,000 / $1,800 / $1,600

  • Child combined assessment: $2,550 / $2,300 / $2,050

What Kind of Assessment Do You Actually Need?

(Master's-Level vs. Neuropsychological Evaluation)

Let’s be very clear upfront: This is a Master’s-level diagnostic assessment, not a neuropsychological evaluation.

The medical and educational systems are full of gatekeeping, and different institutions require different levels of documentation to grant you access to support. Before you spend your time and money, it is crucial to know what kind of assessment you actually need.

Here is a breakdown to help you decide:

Why you might need a Neuropsychological Evaluation

Neuropsychological testing is usually conducted by a PhD or PsyD. It is highly clinical, involves extensive cognitive and IQ testing, and is often required if you are trying to navigate rigid bureaucratic systems. You likely need a neuropsych evaluation if:

  • You are applying for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or other government disability benefits.

  • You are seeking a 504 plan or IEP for a K-12 student, and your specific school district mandates that the diagnosis comes from a psychologist or neuropsychologist.

  • You are seeking accommodations for high-stakes standardized testing (like the Bar Exam or Medical Boards), which often have notoriously strict documentation requirements.

Why you might prefer a Master’s-Level Diagnostic Assessment (What we do)

Master’s-level assessments (conducted by licensed therapists/counselors) skip the sterile cognitive testing and focus heavily on your lived experience, developmental history, and internal world. You might prefer this route if:

  • You want answers now. Neuropsych waitlists are often 12 to 18 months long. Our waitlists are significantly shorter.

  • Your primary goal is self-validation. You want to understand your brain, drop the mask, and figure out how to navigate your life with self-compassion rather than self-blame.

  • Your care team needs it. Your current therapist or medication provider has stated they will accept a Master's-level diagnosis to better tailor your therapy or medication management.

  • You need standard accommodations. Many college disability offices and workplace HR departments will accept a Master's-level diagnostic report to grant reasonable accommodations (though we always recommend verifying with them first).

  • You want a neuro-affirming experience. You want an assessment that feels like a collaborative conversation about your unique brain, rather than a clinical exam focused on what you "can't" do.

The Fine Print (Please Read)

Going through an assessment does not guarantee a diagnosis of autism or ADHD, and receiving a diagnosis does not automatically guarantee workplace accommodations, school accommodations, or disability coverage. Please note that we do not provide neuropsychological assessments. If you are seeking this evaluation specifically to get accommodations from a specific organization, school, or employer, please confirm exactly what type of testing they require before scheduling to ensure this assessment will meet their criteria.

Immigration Assessment

Translating Your Lived Experience for a Broken System

The immigration system is notoriously bureaucratic and often fails to see the human being behind the paperwork. An immigration evaluation is designed to bridge that gap. It is a specialized clinical assessment that translates your lived experience, psychological history, and the reality of your circumstances into the formal documentation the court demands.

The goal of this evaluation is to conduct a thorough clinical assessment of your mental health, document the psychological impact of past trauma, and clearly articulate the severe psychological and systemic consequences of deportation or family separation.

The resulting comprehensive report provides the court with clear, clinical insight into your specific hardships, giving your case the evidentiary weight it deserves.

Types of Cases We Support:

We provide forensic-level clinical evaluations for the following immigration proceedings:

  • Asylum: Documenting the psychological impact of persecution or the anticipated psychological consequences of returning to a country of origin.

  • Extreme Hardship / Cancellation of Removal: Assessing the psychological and emotional impact that deportation would have on a qualifying U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident family member.

  • T Visa: Evaluations for survivors of human trafficking.

  • U Visa: Evaluations for survivors of specific criminal activities who have experienced substantial mental or physical abuse.

  • VAWA (Violence Against Women Act): Evaluations for survivors of intimate partner violence or domestic abuse.

  • I-751 Petition: Evaluations supporting a waiver of the joint filing requirement, often involving documentation of abuse or extreme hardship.

We work collaboratively with you and your legal representation to ensure the evaluation accurately and respectfully reflects your psychological reality.

Investment (sliding scale): $1,250 / $1,000 / $750

Expedited fee: +$250

Gender-Affirming Care Letters

The medical system’s requirement for a therapist’s letter to access gender-affirming care is rooted in gatekeeping and the policing of trans and gender-diverse bodies. You know who you are, and you know what your body needs. My role is simply to help you navigate the bureaucratic hurdles so you can access that care.

These letters are often required by surgeons, endocrinologists, or insurance companies to access vital medical interventions, such as hormone replacement therapy (HRT), gender-affirming surgeries, or legal gender marker changes.

My Commitment to You:

I operate on an informed-consent model. I am not here to assess if you are "trans enough" or to make you prove your identity to me.

My goal is to minimize the barriers between you and the care you need. I aim to provide a fully signed, compliant letter by the end of our very first session. We will use our time to ensure the letter meets the specific requirements of your medical provider or insurance company, so you can move forward without unnecessary delays.

Investment (sliding scale): $125 / $100 / $75
